The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Estela as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group A-A. Estela defeated 9th ranked La Fecha in Santander 73-62. Estela forced 19 La Fecha turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by La Fecha's players. The winners were led by Lithuanian forward Justinas Olechnavicius (194-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored that evening 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Estela players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 9 rebounds by guard Millan Lopez (185-94) did not help to save the game for La Fecha. Center Hector Parras (198-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Zornotza. La Fecha at the other side keeps the ninth place with 14 games lost. La Fecha will play next round against Burgos trying to get back on the winning streak. Estela will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked BIOK2.COM OKE at Ordizia.
