Very expected game when 14th ranked Cerdanyola (4-18) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Cornella (12-10) 79-61 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Cornella dominated on the defensive end, holding Cerdanyola to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Cerdanyola 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Oscar Raya (209-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and center Alexandre Sanmartin (202-84) who added 8 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Genis Tena (186-89) responded with 18 points and power forward Aitor Murua (198-90) scored 13 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cornella maintains seventh position in Group C-B with 12-10 record. Cerdanyola lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 18 games lost. Cornella will face Olivar (#9) in Zaragoza in the next round.
