Everything went according to plan in Lugo where third ranked Chantada (18-8) beat bottom-ranked Estudiantes L. (12-14) 72-62 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-92, college: Idaho St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American swingman Charles Knowles (196-93, college: William Penn) who added 22 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Jose-Antonio Lopez (190-96) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Pablo Cordoba (182-97) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Chantada maintains third position in Group A-B with 18-8 record having just four point less than leader Vic. Loser Estudiantes L. dropped to the bottom place with 14 games lost. Chantada will face Naron (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Estudiantes L. will play against Culleredo and hope to win that game.
