Regular Season Round 3: Sutherland S. - Norths Bears 45-79

There was no surprise when Sharks (1-2) were outleveled by North Bears (2-0) in Sutherland 79-45 on Saturday. North Bears outrebounded Sharks 53-32 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sharks' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when North Bears made 7 blocks. It was a good game for Renae Garlepp who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian forward Kendra Asleson (183-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four North Bears players scored in double figures. Madeleine Norris answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and guard Ashleigh Heal (170-95) added 12 points in the effort for Sharks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
