Regular Season Round 27: Olimpi - Rustavi 80-83

Important game to mention about took place in Tbilisi. Third ranked Energy Invest (16-8) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Olimpi (13-11) 83-80 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Olimpi took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Energy Invest took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 3 points. It was a great shooting night for Energy Invest especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Olimpi was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Tyrell Nelson (201, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Adam Blazek (185-92, college: Gannon) accounted for 25 points for the winning side. American forward Maurius Hill (196-94, college: UALR) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Givi Bakradze (180-91) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for Olimpi in the defeat. Five Energy Invest and four Olimpi players scored in double figures. Energy Invest moved-up to second place, which they share with Dinamo Tbilisi. Olimpi at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Energy Invest will play against DELTA (#8) in Marneuli in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olimpi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Cactus Tbilisi.
