Gniezno dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Miedzychod's 34. They outrebounded Miedzychod 46-22 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gniezno players were unselfish on offense dishing 37 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Miedzychod's players. Guard Piotr Golasinski (187-86) notched a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Michal Szydlowski (197-87) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Five Gniezno players scored in double figures. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) did not help to save the game for Miedzychod. The former international point guard Jaroslaw Kalinowski (180-79) added 12 points and 5 assists for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
