Regular Season Round 27: DELTA - Kutaisi 81-89

Superleague top team - Kutaisi (18-6) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked DELTA (8-16) in Marneuli 89-81. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of DELTA. DELTA was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 54-39 second half run of Kutaisi. They outrebounded DELTA 36-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. It was a good game for the former international Akaki Dvalishvili (207-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Jonathan Lee (188-90, college: Northeastern, agency: Court Side) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. Guard Saba Lobjanidze (192-93) answered with 21 points and the former international Levan Patsatsia (198-88, college: Troy) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for DELTA. Five Kutaisi and four DELTA players scored in double figures. Kutaisi maintains first place with 18-6 record. Newly promoted DELTA keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. Kutaisi's next round opponent will be Batumi (#6) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. DELTA will play against Energy Invest and hope to win that game.
