Leading Toyota Alvark (34-12) recorded its twelfth loss in Tokyo. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (23-23) 87-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Toyota Alvark. Hokkaido L. shot 65.4 percent from the field. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and American swingman Dijon Thompson (201-83, college: UCLA) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hitachi SR. Toyota Alvark at the other side still keeps top position with 12 games lost. They share it with Chiba Jets. Hokkaido L. will play against Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Tokyo in the next round. Toyota Alvark will play on the road against Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
