Regular Season Round 27: Cerignola Udas - Ortona 75-81

There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Ortona (5-22) won against on the road 14th ranked Cerignola Udas (8-19) 81-75 on Sunday. Ortona looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Diego Martino (167-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 assists. Swingman Alex Martelli (195-91) helped adding 17 points and 5 assists. Four Ortona players scored in double figures. Ortona's coach Benedetto Salomone used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (189-82) with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Nunzio Sabbatino (188-92, agency: Players Group) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Ortona maintains sixteenth place in B with 5-22 record. Newly promoted Cerignola Udas keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. Ortona will face higher ranked Campli (#9) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
