Regular Season Round 28: Coruna II - Carbajosa 76-70

There was an upset when higher ranked Carbajosa (14-12) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Coruna II (10-16) 76-70 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Pablo Ferreiro (187-98) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Larry Abia (195-93) who added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Coruna II's coach Fernando Buendia used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Serbian power forward Aleksandar Rac (206-89) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Ruben Gutierrez (192-95) scored 10 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Coruna II have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Coruna II maintains twelfth position in Group A-B with 10-16 record. Carbajosa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Coruna II will face higher ranked Innova Chef (#7) in Zamora in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Carbajosa will play at home against the league's second-placed Gijon having rather not much hope for a victory.
