Second Stage Round 8: Svitavy - BK Decin 86-66

The game in Svitavy supposed to be also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers BK Decin (17-13) played at the court of fifth ranked Basketbal Svitavy (14-16). Basketbal Svitavy did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 86-66 on Tuesday. Basketbal Svitavy had a 31-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Basketbal Svitavy made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Garret Kerr (194-92, college: Univ.Sciences) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Tomas Teply (193-87) supported him with 17 points. Four Basketbal Svitavy players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by the former international forward Tomas Pomikalek (200-89) did not help to save the game for BK Decin. The former international power forward Pavel Houska (203-84, agency: Octagon Europe) added 10 points for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Basketbal Svitavy maintains fifth position in Places 1-6 with 14-16 record. Loser BK Decin keeps the fourth place with 13 games lost. Basketbal Svitavy will meet BK Olomoucko (#6) in the next round. BK Decin will play against BK Opava and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
