Finals Game 1: Tartu Ulikool - Siauliai 86-88

Siauliai snatched a narrow road win in Tartu in the consolation finals opener. It looked good early as Tartu Ulikool took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Siauliai had a 25-12 second period charge getting the lead and Tartu Ulikool was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 86-88. Siauliai dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tartu Ulikool's 34. They outrebounded Tartu Ulikool 35-20 including 20 on the defensive glass. Siauliai players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) nailed 22 points for the winning side and American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St., agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Wright is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Lithuanian Vytenis Cizauskas (187-92) came up with 18 points and 5 assists and point guard Tanel Sokk (187-85) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for Tartu Ulikool in the defeat. Five Tartu Ulikool players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
