Very significant was Redbacks' (#7) just 3-point road victory against 6th ranked Wanneroo. They made 29-of-34 charity shots (85.3 percent) during the game, while Wanneroo only scored ten points from the stripe. The winners were led by American forward Kayla Standish (187-89, college: Gonzaga) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and the other American import guard Makailah Dyer (175, college: N.Dakota) supported her with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Redbacks' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 13 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists by guard Shani Amos (170-91) did not help to save the game for Wanneroo. Swingman Nikita-Lee Martin (184-88) added 15 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Four Wanneroo players scored in double figures. Redbacks (2-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with Newcastle H. and Ringwood H. Wanneroo at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Penrith P. and Sutherland S.. Redbacks will play against Cougars (#4) in Hamilton Hill in the next round. Wanneroo will play at home against Slammers to get more than just one victory in their record.
