Liaoning toppled Guangdong to open win count in the semifinal series. Flying Leopards made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Flying Leopards outrebounded Guandong Tigers 47-36 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: Dutt Sports Services) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Flying Leopards' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) answered with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) added 14 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Guandong Tigers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
