There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked BK Lions Hradec (2-29) defeated on the road 10th ranked NH Ostrava (12-19) 85-77 on Saturday. BK Lions Hradec shot 69.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 68.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was Lukas Stegbauer (197-95) who scored 21 points. Guard Martin Basta (190-92) chipped in 15 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Milan Stanojevic (183-86, college: E.Washington, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who recorded 25 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Serbian Strahinja Stojacic (197-92) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. BK Lions Hradec maintains twelfth place in Places 7-12 with 2-29 record. Loser NH Ostrava keeps the tenth position with 19 games lost. BK Lions Hradec will meet higher ranked BK Usti nad Labem (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. NH Ostrava will play against USK Praha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
