Semi-Finals Game 1: IR - Tindastoll 82-89
Date: April 4, 2018
Tindastoll upset IR on the road in the opener. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 36-31 IR's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 89-82 at the end of the game. Tindastoll players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. IR was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Sigtryggur-Arnar Bjornsson (180-93) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 4 assists. American forward Antonio Hester (198-90, college: Mobile, AL) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Hester is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tindastoll players scored in double figures. American forward Danero Thomas (200-86, college: Murray St.) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and international point guard Matthias Sigurdarson (183-94, college: Columbus St.) added 13 points and 9 assists in the effort for IR. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
