Regular Season Round 25: Iraklis - Doukas 91-82

Very expected game when 15th ranked Doukas (3-22) lost to third ranked Iraklis (19-6) in Thessaloniki 82-91 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-82. Iraklis looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Doukas' players. It was a very good performance for Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Vasilis Angelakopoulos (203-79) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Iraklis players scored in double figures. Guard Alexis Kiritsis (198-82) answered with 34 points (!!!) and center Ioannis Tozios (209-90) added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Doukas. Iraklis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 19-6 record having five points less than leader Peristeri GS. Doukas lost eleventh consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom. Iraklis will face league's second-placed Holargos on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Doukas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Marousi.
