Regular Season Round 27: Nanterre - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 69-87

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (14-13) defeated on the road 8th ranked JSF Nanterre (14-13) 87-69. The game was mostly controlled by Pau-Lacq-Orthez. JSF Nanterre was better in third quarter 25-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pau-Lacq-Orthez made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for international point guard Elie-Franck Okobo (188-97) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Alain Koffi (207-83, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. International Lahaou Konate (196-91) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Kevin Jones (206-89, college: W.Virginia) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for JSF Nanterre in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nanterre. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's next round opponent will be higher ranked Le Mans (#3) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
