Regular Season Round 32: Den Bosch - Groningen 73-95

An interesting game for Groningen (23-3) which played road game in Den Bosch against second-ranked Den Bosch (21-6). First ranked Groningen had an easy win 95-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Den Bosch. It looked good early as Den Bosch took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Groningen had a 26-18 second period charge getting the lead and Den Bosch was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-95. Groningen players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Den Bosch was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandyn Curry (187-91, college: Harvard, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international center Thomas Koenis (211-89, agency: Court Side) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American forward Mike Miklusak (198-94, college: W.Illinois) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Nick Oudendag (210-87) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Den Bosch's coach Silvano Poropat gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first position with 23-3 record. Den Bosch at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Groningen will play against Rotterdam (#5) on the road in the next round. Den Bosch will play against Den Helder and hopes to get back on the winning track.
