Regular Season Round 11: Reinas - Quetzales 41-45

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Reinas (4-7) were defeated at home by seventh ranked Quetzales (2-9) 45-41. Quetzales outrebounded Reinas 48-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Izchel Valdez who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Sarai Morales accounted for 0 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. The former international forward Sofia Moreno (185-88) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Annel Tapia (171-86) added 4 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Reinas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Quetzales maintains seventh place with 2-9 record. Newly promoted Reinas keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Quetzales' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ciudad de Mexico to the arena Gamos.
