Regular Season Round 22: Kastela - Skrljevo 73-81

Everything went according to plan in Kastela Sucurac where fifth ranked KK Skrljevo (13-8) beat bottom-ranked Kastela (3-17) 81-73. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Kastela won second period 29-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KK Skrljevo forced 19 Kastela turnovers. KK Skrljevo players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Swingman Davor Konjevic (197-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) notched a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Sinisa Stemberger (196-79) supported him with 10 points and 7 assists. KK Skrljevo's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 18 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists by guard Nikola Dosen (190-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) did not help to save the game for Kastela. Forward Dino Sipic (201-88) added 14 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Four Kastela players scored in double figures. KK Skrljevo maintains fifth position with 13-8 record. Kastela lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. KK Skrljevo will play against Jazine (#12) in Zadar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kastela will play on the road against KK Vrijednosnice Osijek and hopes to get back on the winning track.
