Regular Season Round 9: Sao Jose - UniFacisa 66-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in Sao Jose. Second-best host Sao Jose (8-2) lost to third ranked UniFacisa (7-4) 77-66. UniFacisa outrebounded Sao Jose 37-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Allen (190-88, college: Iowa St.) who scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Farad Cobb (183-93, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 21 points. UniFacisa's coach Eduardo Schafer used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Alexandre Pinheiro (185-85) who recorded 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Douglas Nunes (208-87) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Despite that victory UniFacisa went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Sao Jose still keeps top place with two games lost. They share the position with Corinthians. UniFacisa will meet at home Brasilia (#5) in the next round. Sao Jose will play against Blumenau (#7) and hope to secure a win.
