Regular Season Round 32: Tochigi Brex - Hokkaido L. 77-83

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (25-26) won against on the road 4th ranked Tochigi Brex (29-23) 83-77 on Sunday. Hokkaido L. made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Dijon Thompson (201-83, college: UCLA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. American forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) replied with 25 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tochigi Brex. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Defending champion Tochigi Brex keeps the fourth position with 23 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tochigi Brex will play against Toyama Grouses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
