Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Tezenis Verona (16-12) outplayed at home 16th ranked Agribertocchi OR (4-24) 100-73 on Sunday. Tezenis Verona shot 63.3 percent from the field. Tezenis Verona had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Agribertocchi OR's players. It was a very good performance for the former international point guard Andrea Amato (190-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 assists. American point guard Phil Greene-IV (187-92, college: St.John's) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Five Tezenis Verona players scored in double figures. Tezenis Verona's coach Luca Dalmonte felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Argentinian Mario-Jose Ghersetti (201-81) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: E.Tenn.St., agency: HMS) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Agribertocchi OR. Tezenis Verona maintains eighth position in A2 with 16-12 record. Newly promoted Agribertocchi OR keeps the sixteenth place with 24 games lost. Tezenis Verona will face Unieuro Forli (#12) on the road in the next round. Agribertocchi OR will play against Dinamica MNV (#11) and hope to win that game.
