An interesting game took place in Weissenfels where higher ranked ratiopharm Ulm (14-14) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (9-19) 80-69 on Sunday. Mitteldeutscher BC made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American forward Sergio Kerusch (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian swingman Djordje Drenovac (201-92) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. At the losing side Tongan-New Zealand forward Isaac Fotu (203-93, college: Hawaii) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Per Guenther (185-88) scored 11 points and 4 assists. ratiopharm Ulm's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC maintains fourteenth position with 9-19 record. ratiopharm Ulm lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC will face higher ranked Science City Jena (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
