Kouvot overcame Helsinki Seagulls in the opener. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Helsinki Seagulls won fourth quarter 25-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kouvot players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Helsinki Seagulls was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jamie Skeen (203-88, college: VCU) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international Ville Kaunisto (204-82, agency: Court Side) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jermaine Marshall (193-90, college: Arizona St., agency: SDJ Sports) answered with 29 points and the other American import point guard Mike Caffey (183-93, college: Long Beach St.) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Helsinki Seagulls. Five Kouvot and four Helsinki Seagulls players scored in double figures.
