Regular Season Round 22: Aris - Kymis 60-73

Date: April 11, 2018
Very expected game when 11th ranked Aris (7-15) lost to seventh ranked Kymis (11-11) in Thessaloniki 60-73 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Kymis. Aris was better in fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Kymis outrebounded Aris 38-17 including a 28-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for American guard Thaddus McFadden (188-87, college: Fairmont St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Sotirios Manolopoulos (208-87) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Kymis' coach Giannis Kastritis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international power forward Michalis Tsairelis (206-88) replied with 14 points and American swingman Omar Prewitt (201-94, college: William & Mary) added 9 points in the effort for Aris. Kymis have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 11-11 record. Loser Aris keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Kymis will face Cretan Kings (#9) in Rethymno in the next round. Aris will play on the road against Aiolos Trikallon in Trikala and hope to win that game.
