Regular Season Round 28: Dijon - Antibes 77-62

Date: April 14, 2018
Very predictable result when seventh ranked JDA Dijon (16-12) won against at home 15th ranked Olympique Antibes (11-17) 77-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 43-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Olympique Antibes outrebounded JDA Dijon 41-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JDA Dijon made 8 blocks. It was a very good performance for swingman Valentin Bigote (196-92) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 assists. American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (204-90, college: Villanova) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized Mali power forward Nianta Diarra (205-93, agency: Two Points) added 5 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Olympique Antibes. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. JDA Dijon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ASVEL. Olympique Antibes lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. JDA Dijon will face higher ranked Le Mans (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Olympique Antibes will play against Cholet Basket (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
