Regular Season Round 13: Aztks - Lobas 81-76

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Lobas (11-2) on the court of fourth ranked Aztks on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Aztks 81-76. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Lobas. They outrebounded Lobas 34-23 including 19 on the defensive glass. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-83) stepped up and scored 32 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Charisse Burruel chipped in 19 points. Aztks' coach A Fernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Carolee Dillard (188-94, college: UALR) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Aliyah Kilpatrick (173-94, college: N.Carolina A&T) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Four Lobas players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Aztks maintains fourth place with 9-4 record. Lobas at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Aztks are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Acereras (#8) in the next round. Lobas' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Ciudad de Mexico to the arena Quetzales.
