Regular Season Round 6: El Million - San Carlos 91-93

Third ranked San Carlos (4-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-best El Million (3-4) 93-91 on Sunday evening. Strangely El Million outrebounded San Carlos 45-30 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. El Million was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Kevin Perez supported him with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by Jose Corporan (-88) did not help to save the game for El Million. American swingman Paris Bass (203-95, college: Detroit Mercy) added 23 points and 13 rebounds. Five El Million players scored in double figures. San Carlos maintains third position in Group B with 4-2 record having just three points less than leader Mauricio Baez. El Million at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. San Carlos will play against Los Prados (#4) in the next round. El Million will play against Bameso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
