There was no surprise when 4th placed Salerno (21-8) lost on the road to second ranked Basket Barcellona (23-5) 89-83 on Sunday. Basket Barcellona looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Michael Teghini (192-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Daniele Grilli (190-87) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Massimiliano Sanna (195-88) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Marco Cucco (189-94, agency: Players Group) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Salerno. Four Salerno players scored in double figures. Basket Barcellona maintains second place in B with 23-5 record having just three points less than leader Cento. Newly promoted Salerno keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Basket Barcellona will face Patti (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Salerno will play against the league's leader Palestrina (#1) and hope to win that game.
