We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Vienna (15-15) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Dukes (14-16) 106-90 on Monday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 106-90. Dukes dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Vienna's 38 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Vienna 38-18 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dukes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) who scored 41 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Naturalized Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Czech center Jiri Hubalek (208-82, college: Iowa St., agency: Interperformances) who recorded 28 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) added 20 points and 6 assists respectively. Dukes maintains sixth position with 14-16 record. Loser Vienna keeps the fifth place with 15 games lost. Dukes will face Gunners Oberwart (#7) on the road in the next round. Vienna will play against UBSC Graz and hope to win that game.
