Regular Season Round 29: Strasbourg - Monaco 71-90

Date: April 18, 2018
The game between Top Four teams took place in Strasbourg. Second-ranked host SIG Strasbourg (19-10) was smashed by first ranked Monaco (22-7) 90-71. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. SIG Strasbourg managed to win third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Monaco shot 62.3 percent from the field. They also forced 20 SIG Strasbourg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by SIG Strasbourg's players. American swingman Christopher Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) stepped up and scored 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. American-Bosnian guard Zack Wright (188-85, college: Central Mo.) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monaco have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 22-7 record. SIG Strasbourg lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with ten games lost. They share it with Le Mans. Monaco are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Hyeres-Toulon (#18) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SIG Strasbourg will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
