Regular Season Round 24: Kastela - Jazine 99-71

Bottom-ranked Kastela managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Kastela outleveled eleventh-ranked Jazine in Kastela Sucurac 99-71. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 28-point difference proves that Kastela was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Kastela. Jazine was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Jazine's 36. Kastela players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Jazine's players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Ante Djugum (211-88, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Ivan Rasetina (198-91) who added 20 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Kastela players scored in double figures. Kastela's coach Luka Zitko felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Slovenian point guard Mirza Sarajlija (187-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) with 27 points and 5 rebounds and center Franko Kastropil (212-84, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Kastela (4-18) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Zagreb. Jazine at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Kastela will play against league's second-placed KK Zadar on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jazine will play against Split (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
