The game in Bamberg was also worth to mention about. 6th ranked EWE Baskets (18-12) played at the court of seventh ranked Brose Baskets (18-11). Brose Baskets defeated EWE Baskets 95-82. Brose Baskets made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Brose Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. EWE Baskets were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Italian guard Daniel Hackett (199-87, college: USC) scored 24 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American Augustine Rubit (201-89, college: S.Alabama) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Rickey Paulding (196-82, college: Missouri) scored 14 points. Five EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brose Baskets have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place. EWE Baskets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Brose Baskets will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#8) in Frankfurt in the next round. EWE Baskets will play at home against Mitteldeutscher BC and hope to get back on the winning track.
