Rather expected game when 6th ranked Eagles (4-4) lost to fourth ranked Flames (6-2) in Rockingham 83-95 on Friday. Flames outrebounded Eagles 39-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for forward Greg Hire (201-87, college: Augusta) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Curtis Washington (208-91, college: Georgia St.) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Flames players scored in double figures. Swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: Metro St.) answered with 30 points and 4 assists and American power forward Jonathan Morse (203-91, college: Metro St.) added 20 points in the effort for Eagles. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Flames went down to fifth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Eagles dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Flames will face league's second-placed Wanneroo in Joondalup in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play at home against Lightning (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
