Regular Season Round 27: Aalstar - Brussels 85-89

The game between third ranked Okapi Aalstar (18-10) and eighth ranked Basic-Fit Brussels (9-19) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Okapi Aalstar was defeated by Basic-Fit Brussels in a tough game in Aalstar 85-89. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Okapi Aalstar. It was a great evening for American forward Jeremy Simmons (204-89, college: Charleston) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 4 blocks (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). His fellow American import power forward Brandon Peterson (204-90, college: Arkansas St., agency: Inception Sports) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) with 14 points, 7 assists and 5 steals and the former international swingman Olivier Troisfontaines (196-89) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Basic-Fit Brussels maintains eighth place with 9-19 record. Okapi Aalstar at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Basic-Fit Brussels will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Okapi Aalstar will play again on the road against Basic-Fit Brussels (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
