Quarter-Finals Round 2: COR Victoria - Gomel-Sozh 47-85

Gomel-Sozh cruised past COR Victoria to advance into the semis. The game without a history. Gomel-Sozh led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to BrGU COR Victoria's 28. Gomel-Sozh forced 20 BrGU COR Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 56-33 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gomel-Sozh players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by BrGU COR Victoria's players. Forward Yulya Haponava (185-94) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Marina Rakovskaia (173-92) supported her with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Four Gomel-Sozh players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by forward Anastasia Babak (177-2) did not help to save the game for BrGU COR Victoria. Forward Aleksandra Chyzhevskaya (178-2) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
