Regular Season Round 25: Split - Jazine 111-81

Very predictable result when fifth ranked Split (15-8) smashed at home 11th ranked Jazine (5-19) 111-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Split. Jazine managed to win second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Jazine's 36. They outrebounded Jazine 36-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. Split looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 22 passes made by Jazine's players. American point guard Mike Scott (184-93, college: Idaho) fired 25 points and 9 assists for the winners. Forward Henrik Sirko (198-93, agency: XL Basketball Agency) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Marin Zrnic (201-88, agency: PEPI SPORT) produced 21 points and 7 assists and Slovenian point guard Mirza Sarajlija (187-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Split. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with GKK Sibenik. Newly promoted Jazine keeps the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Split will meet Kastela (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jazine will have a break next round.
