Regular Season Round 32: Jena - Giessen 46ers 86-65

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Science City Jena (13-19) outscored at home 11th ranked Giessen 46ers (15-17) 86-65. Science City Jena players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Skyler Bowlin (191-89, college: Missouri So.) contributed with 19 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Center John Bryant (210-87, college: Santa Clara) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Jamar Abrams (201-89, college: E.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Giessen 46ers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Science City Jena moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Braunschweig. Giessen 46ers at the other side keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Science City Jena will play against higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#8) in Frankfurt in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Giessen 46ers will play at home against the league's second-placed ALBA Berlin and will have a slim chance for a victory.
