Ninth-ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (3-11) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (9-5) on Friday. The visitors from Hermosillo managed to secure only two-point victory 99-97. However their fans expected much easier game. Panamanian center Jordan Henriquez-Roberts (214-89, college: Kansas St.) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American swingman Quinton Chievous (198-92, college: Hampton) chipped in 25 points. At the losing side American forward Carl Hall (202-89, college: Wichita St., agency: HMS) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Michael Lizarraga (200-89, college: CS Northridge) scored 24 points. Five Rayos de Hermosillo and four Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rayos de Hermosillo. They maintain fifth place with 9-5 record. Lobos UAD Mazatlan lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Rayos de Hermosillo will have a break next round. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will play again at home against Rayos de Hermosillo (#5) and hope to win that game.
