PeKa celebrated SM-sarja title. They upset Catz in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to conquer the trophy. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Daisha Simmons (178-91, college: Seton Hall, agency: Gamble Sports Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import forward Megan Mullings (185-92, college: Alaska-Anch.) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. American forward Aleighsa Welch (183-93, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-American swingman Natalie Day (182-90, college: Portland) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds.
