A2 top team - Peristeri GS (28-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Marousi (10-19) in Athens 96-78. The game was mostly controlled by Peristeri GS. Marousi was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Peristeri GS dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Marousi's 30 and made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Marousi 44-30 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Tasos Dimitriadis (204-82) nailed 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and guard Spyros Magounis (200-85) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Peristeri GS players scored in double figures. Forward Giannis Papageorgopoulos (204-91) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-98) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Marousi in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri GS have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first place with 28-1 record. Marousi lost third consecutive game. Marousi at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Amyntas Dafnis.
