Regular Season Round 36: Cactus Tbilisi - Mgzavrebi 112-92

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Cactus Tbilisi (#3) and Mgzavrebi (#7). Cactus Tbilisi (22-10) smashed visiting Mgzavrebi (13-19) by 20 points 112-92. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 112-92. Cactus Tbilisi dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Mgzavrebi's 48. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chris Johnson (190-91, college: St.Catharine) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds and guard Davit Lomidze (196-97) who added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Cameroonian forward Bertrand Nkali (206-92, college: Houston) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists and international Kakhaber Jintcharadze (195-93) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Cactus Tbilisi and five Mgzavrebi players scored in double figures. Cactus Tbilisi have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Mgzavrebi lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 19 games lost.
