Regular Season Round 28: Hapoel J-M - Maccabi Ashdod 85-65

The game between Top Four teams took place in Jerusalem. Third ranked host Hapoel Jerusalem (18-10) smashed their biggest opponent Maccabi Ashdod (18-10) 85-65. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Maccabi Ashdod. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Jerusalem. Maccabi Ashdod managed to win second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Jerusalem shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) fired 25 points for the winners. The former international point guard Bar Timor (190-92, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. American-German swingman Travis Warech (193-91, college: Ithaca) produced 19 points and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) added 8 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Hapoel Holon and Maccabi Ashdod. Hapoel Jerusalem will meet Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#6) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Galil Gilboa (#5) and hope to secure a win.
