Regular Season Round 9: Perth R. - Stirling S. 105-84

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Stirling S.'s (6-5) road loss to fourth ranked Redbacks (7-3) 84-105 on Friday. Redbacks made 33-of-42 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Stirling S. was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Shawn Redhage (203-81, college: Arizona St.) who scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Benjamin Smith (192-89) chipped in 27 points. Four Redbacks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Justin King (196-89, college: TRU) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and center Ashley Litterick (196-96) added 21 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Redbacks moved-up to third place in League. Loser Stirling S. dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Redbacks will face Slammers (#13) in Bunbury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Stirling S. will play on the road against Eagles (#8) in Morley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
