Very important is a road loss of second ranked Le Mans (21-11) against eleventh ranked Le Portel (15-17) on Friday night. Visiting Le Mans was defeated by Le Portel in a tough game in Le Portel 79-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Le Mans. They outrebounded Le Mans 49-34 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import power forward Franklin Hassell (205-88, college: ODU) supported him with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by American guard Justin Cobbs (190-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Le Mans. American-FYR Macedonian Romeo Travis (198-84, college: Akron) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Four Le Portel and five Le Mans players scored in double figures. Le Portel maintains eleventh position with 15-17 record. Le Mans at the other side dropped to the third place with 11 games lost. Le Portel will play against Chalon/Saor (#12) on the road in the next round. Le Mans will play against the league's second-placed SIG Strasbourg (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
