Regular Season Round 9: Kalamunda E.S. - Cockburn C. 88-103

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Kalamunda where 10th ranked Suns (4-8) were defeated by eleventh ranked Cougars (4-6) 103-88 on Saturday. Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) who scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Logan Viskovich (198) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) added 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Five Cougars and four Suns players scored in double figures. Suns' coach let to play eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars moved-up to tenth place in League. Loser Suns dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Cougars will face league's second-placed Buccaneers in Wonthella in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Suns will play on the road against Flames (#5) in Rockingham and hope to win that game.
