The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Ostioneros de Guaymas (11-6) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Rayos de Hermosillo (12-6) 84-81. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Quinton Chievous (198-92, college: Hampton) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Allen West (206-91, college: Nevada) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and forward Shane Heyward (200-92, college: Columbus St.) added 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Ostioneros de Guaymas. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rayos de Hermosillo keeps a position of league leader. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Navolato and Tijuana. Rayos de Hermosillo are looking forward to face Caballeros de Culiacan (#5) at home in the next round. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play against Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and are hoping to win this game.
