The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Cairns Marlins (3-1) at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Mackay Meteors (3-0) 92-88. It was a key game for the top position in League. Mackay Meteors made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. The former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Anthony Fisher (187-94) answered with 26 points and 8 rebounds and forward Christian Jurlina (196, college: Whitworth, agency: MKP Management) added 20 points in the effort for Cairns Marlins. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cairns Marlins' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mackay Meteors keep a position of League leader. Cairns Marlins at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. Mackay Meteors will play against Toowoomba Mountaineers (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cairns Marlins will play against Rockhampton Rockets (#7) and hope to get back on the winning track.
